GIRL SCOUT "SWAP" TREE OF HOPE
Girl Scout "SWAP" Tree of Hope is part of the Festival of Trees at the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center in Lynchburg, VA. The tree is decorated with 350 SWAPS in memory of 907 Troop Leader Dana Guarino Murphey. This tree was on display from November 12, 2017 to December 10, 2017. It will be auctioned with all proceeds going to the Cancer Support Fund that provides funds for needed wigs, transportation ect. The Tree of Hope is one of our many service projects.

We were so excited to meet the congregation of the church where we have our meetings, Memorial Christian Church. They were very excited to meet us too (see the welcome board waiting for us). Our girls were the Greeters and passed out bulletins. The whole church enjoyed our cookie and milk reception.

162 girls participating. Donated 450 pounds of food to the Blue Ridge Food Bank. Filled and decorated 98 birthday boxes for Meals on Wheels. Made Handmade Thinking of you cards for all of the residents at Avante and the Carrington Nursing Homes, plus made 3 Christmas ornaments to take home, ate holiday cookies and heard stories from Mrs. Santa.
